My name is Debbie Greene. I am Superintendent for the Joliet Park District in Joliet, Illinois. I manage Pilcher Park Nature Center and run Little Sprouts Nature Based Early Learning Center. My passion is PLAY in NATURE! I love to play in nature and I love getting children OUTSIDE. I love to get them out playing in the leaves and dirt and running amuck just as I was allowed to do as a child. My mentors on this and many subjects are: Robert Michael Pyle, Richard Louv, Ken Finch and Louise Chawla. I believe children need to play outside to be well balanced, caring, empathetic adults who love nature and work to save it.
I also love to TRAVEL! When I travel it usually turns into Play in Nature also. Either by location or by activity. Not always but usually. So occasionally I will throw in non nature posts as well. I love to read, I love to eat good food and I love to travel.
