Spring is here and it is time to REJUVINATE this page!

It is spring and I am alive and happy to see the flowers and the trees and the birds and the bees!  I have lived here in the Great Lakes Region for 16 years and NEVER have I seen a springier spring!  It is warm, beautiful and the flowers are blooming. The birds KNEW long before we did that it was going to be warm.  They started arriving in record numbers earlier than usual this year.

Speaking of birds……….. have you seen the  movie The Big Year?  Slightly stupid but pretty darn funny!  Loved Steve Martin, Jack Black and Owen Wilson.  The scenery in the movie other than these three guys was good too.

The dogs, Aile and Bodhi are happy it is spring too!  They have been guarding the front yard every day with their big red ball.  They are jumping and running and Bodhi is chasing squirrels!

Tell me about your spring experiences so far!  I will be on here MUCH more than I have been in the last several months.  I think I got a case of the winter blahs!!!  But spring is here and I am happy to be outside playing again.  Have a great weekend y’all!

Sunset Cruise Key West Style!

I used to think that writing about Play in Nature was just going to be kids in dirt piles playing and making mud pies.  That is not what it is turning out to be here on my Play in Nature site.  I find nature and children trying to connect to it everywhere I go.  Sometimes it is a kid chasing a pidgeon at the mall parking lot and sometimes it is the child at the aquarium touching a starfish for the first time.

To further illlustrate this point I was just on a Sunset Cruise in Key West, Florida with the folks from Danger Charters.  This was the best sunset cruise I have ever been on for so many reasons.  One is because they were so nice and child friendly.  While we were out there on the water the birds were flying around and the children had a great time watching the gulls and pelicans.  Nature is not just animals…………the spectacular SUNSET counts also!

Let me go back to Danger Charters again for a moment.  They do a spectacular job!  They were rated the #2 Cruise in North America by Coastal Living Magazine. This is an upscale wine cruise with 8 different wines from all over the world.   They had fabulous hors d’oeuvres as well as upscale beer and pop for those who didn’t want wine or were too young.

The folks at Danger Charters  are fabulous!  Friendly, helpful, fun and they really try to make you HAPPY!  This is one thing you should absolutely NOT miss if you are in Key West.  This Cruise is all about you and your enjoyment of the most spectacular sunsets ever.  Key West is all about celebration, and their celebration of Sunsets tops the list.  Don’t miss this one!
